Lets just pretend…

http://norris.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/instant-profits-at-barclays/

what could a private equity firm do to iShares to increase its profitability? im trying to generate some random ideas here…(more for fun that serious)

be like macquarie infrastructure and raise tolls (fees)

turn all the funds to closed-end funds, leverage them, and hold captive assets

create a free exchange

create an etf equivalent for every open-end fund with $50M plus

could statestreet buy cds on the deal and have 0 fees for a year in an attempt to put ishares out of business?

what else?
